Home to Somerset Care’s central office and 25 of our 27 care homes, the delightful rural county of Somerset is the cornerstone of our service. We are always looking for people with kind, compassionate hearts to be able to care for someone as if they were a member of your own family.

Set across a county with the varied landscape of rolling Blackdown, Mendip and Quantock Hills, Exmoor National Park, Somerset Levels, cities of Taunton and Wells, and delightful towns and seaside, Somerset is an ideal place to work and live.

With 1,280 residents in our care homes, we provide respite, day care and longer term support for those needing anything from companionship to specialist dementia care, with some also providing nursing care.

We aren’t just about residential care homes, there is also:

  • The provision of home care, to help people build the confidence to remain independent and stay in their own home for longer.
  • Petals Active Living Centres providing specialist dementia day care services.
  • Our Realise Service, created to transform care for people with learning disabilities.
  • The Halcon Centre, a residential respite centre, offering short breaks for people aged 19 - 65 who are physically disabled and/or have a sensory loss.

The population of Somerset is growing consistently. Amongst the 65-74 age group, the annual rate of growth was an estimated 2.4%, whereas the general growth rate for England as a whole is 1.5%. The number of people aged 75 or older is projected to almost double by 2041.*

This means that the Care sector is a large growth area with lots of opportunities for employment and career progression.

So, if you’re ready to join our team in Somerset, let’s find the perfect role for you.
