Join our Cary Brook Team, part of the Somerset Care Group, in Castle Cary.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will provide nutritionally balanced, attractive and well-presented meals; including meeting special dietary needs where necessary
  • You will work with Company menus within limitations of your budget
  • You will carry out practical duties in relation to meal preparation using powered equipment where appropriate and will undertake duties which involve manual handling of loads
  • You will be responsible for ordering adequate provisions, their storage and rotation
  • You will organise the smooth running of your kitchen by working with, and delegating appropriate tasks to your catering team
  • You will maintain appropriate records to comply with HACCP, Company standards and legislation
  • You will consult with customers to ensure that individuals are offered choice and that individual needs are met

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of working within a catering setting as a Chef or Cook
  • You must have a Level 2 QCF qualification in catering
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for people
  • Able to work alternate weekends
  • Hours available (per week): 40 hours
