Job Purpose

As a supervisor, you will be a key member of the Management Team and accountable to the Manager and Deputy Manager for:

  • Leading and coordinating the care and ancillary staff on shift, ensuring services respond flexibly to the needs of Service Users.
  • Monitoring that staff provide high‑quality care within the Company’s Quality Assurance framework.
  • Ensuring that resources within the home are used efficiently and cost‑effectively.
  • Liaising with other professionals, such as GPs, Social Workers, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will provide personal care such as washing, bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting assistance to the Service Users and will undertake manual handling duties as required.
  • You will be responsible, as part of the senior team for the leading, directing and managing of staff whilst running the shift.
  • You will ensure that a person-centred approach is adopted to meet the identified needs of the individual.
  • You will contribute to the effective supervision and support of staff.
  • You will maintain necessary records and participate in the Service Users care planning, goal setting and resident reviews.
  • You will access and update confidential records using a computer on a daily basis. You may also be required to use technology to support Customers in order to improve health and well-being in order to maintain contact with family and friends e.g. Skype, YouTube, Internet etc.
  • You will implement the Company’s policy in relation to the safe storage, handling and recording of medicines and treatments.
  • You will ensure appropriate staffing numbers are met on each shift.
  • When you are on duty, you and your team will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the Service Users, staff and visitors to the home.
  • You will attend meetings, training courses and follow-up refresher courses as required.
  • You will maintain a professional and hygienic appearance.
  • You will work in line with the policy on Infection Prevention and Control, according to your role.
  • Night Care Supervisor only – You will be expected to stay awake and not leave the building when you are on duty.

What You’ll Need

  • At least 1 years’ supervisory experience in a residential care setting within the last 3 years
  • NVQ Level 2
  • A full driving license and your own vehicle
  • Access to a smartphone (iOS or Android)
  • Availability to work a minimum of one shift per month
  • Evidence of your right to work in the UK
  • A CV detailing your full work history, including any gaps
